Security:
- Doctors and nurses using this system have individual passwords.
- INR Manager logs the date and time of a doctors entry and the date and time of the nurse's telephonic notification to patients.
- Only the administrator can change or delete entries.
- Security features of nurse notification screen:
a - Alert screen appears as a window "on top" of any other screen displayed
b - Nurse cannot alter any data
c - Nurse enters her name and password and confirmation of contacting patient
d - Nurse cannot cancel the alert. There is a "snooze" option to delay any action by 5, 10, or 15 minutes
e - A warning is given if the nurse tries to shut down INR Manager on the computer/workstation set to receive notifications
f - If INR Manager was shut down for any reason, all outstanding alerts will appear when INR Manager resumes.
Process: 1 - Doctors log onto INR Manager
2 - Select patient and view chronologically current Warfarin dosage and previous INR values/Warfarin dosage
3 - Enter in INR value, Warfarin dosage, next test date and comment (if required)
4 - Send directly to patient by e-mail or to nurses workstation so nurse can notify patient by phone.
Other features:
- Reporting - can run reports on patients who are 3 days overdue from having their INR test
- Safety - If INR value entered is outside the range 2.0 - 4.0 a warning will appear and the doctor must acknowledge awareness of this.

1 - INR Manager is installed on the server or on a chosen PC, in a shared folder that all workstations have access to. The program size is only 2.5Mb. INR Manager runs minimised in the background and only alerts the nurse only on the PC set to display the alerts. The alerts occurs within seconds after a doctor enters a result.
2 - On each workstation, a shortcut icon is installed on the desktop and this points to the program on the server or main PC where INR is installed in a shared folder. There is no INR Manager software on any workstation other than the installed shortcut icons.
